Rhys has facilitated workshops and delivered training in a number of countries for a large international business services company. He has worked with local authorities, government departments, and financial services organisations. Rhys managed bid teams in Fujitsu's Government Business Unit for about four years, bidding for contracts worth many hundreds of millions. Outside work, Rhys was the first chairperson of a statutory body relating to school funding. Until 2009 he was the chair of governors of a comprehensive school which made significant improvements, and received a rating of "Outstanding" from OFSTED.
